This property has heritage values for its architectural and historical characteristics. In the 19th century it was the headquarters of the Spanish army
It reopened its doors on November 27, 1997 and is in charge of collecting, preserving, and investigating the museum objects related to Corralillense history.
The institution has valuable exponents in the aboriginal archeology section, rescued in the recent discoveries in the archaeological sites of the locality.
It also has important objects related to the war of 1895 and the revolutionary strike of April 10 and 11, 1958.
The Municipal Museum of Corralillo recently reopened its doors, after undergoing a long renovation process.
The cultural space shelters some 1,500 pieces of heritage and exposes aspects of the economic, political and social life of Corralillo from the aboriginal community to the contemporary.
Some of the objects, such as documents and personal relics, are displayed in glass cases and galleries, while others, such as photos and paintings, are displayed on the walls of the installation's rooms.
One of the important pieces that the museum keeps is the original photo of the patriot Leoncio Vidal Caro, illustrious colonel of the Necessary War against Spanish colonialism, born in this town of Villa Clara.
